Russia launched another deadly attack on Kyiv, Ukraine, killing at least 15 people and injuring 56 others, Interfax-Ukraine reported on July 6. The attack came after Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia's "special military operation" had become a "real war" because Western countries stand behind Kyiv.
Ukraine said Russia fired 68 missiles and 351 drones during the July 6 attack and that none of the ballistic missiles had been intercepted. Since 2022, Russian authorities have required officials and state media to describe the invasion as a "special military operation" and have used military censorship laws to prosecute people who publicly called it a war.
