Authorities in Monaco announced they are treating a June 29 explosion that seriously injured three people as "attempted murder" and not considering it a terrorist attack, The Guardian reported June 30. While authorities have not identified those injured, media outlets widely report that the attack targeted Ukrainian-born tycoon Vadym Iermolaiev — who gave up Ukrainian citizenship and has been living in Monaco in recent years — along with his wife and their 13-year-old child.

Iermolaiev was born in Dnipro, Ukraine. His company, Alef Group, has wide-ranging business interests.
