Argentine President Javier Milei's Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni admitted to concealing at least $500,000 in earnings from tax authorities in a new filing, La Nacion reported on June 11.
Adorni admitted he had failed to declare unregistered savings in a previous filing and that he did so to protect himself "from the old political system." He said the undeclared funds came from his private sector job and cryptocurrency investments prior to joining the Milei administration in December 2023. Adorni has been under intense scrutiny and pressure over the past months amid reports of a luxurious lifestyle incompatible with his official earnings. A June survey showed that 61% of Argentines have a negative perception of Milei.
