U.S. President Donald Trump said in a June 11 Truth Social post that the United States would hit Iran "VERY HARD TONIGHT" and claimed the United States would take Kharg Island and other energy infrastructure in the near future. The post came hours after Iran attacked sites in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan in retaliation for U.S. strikes targeting surveillance, communication and air defense sites near Tehran and around the Strait of Hormuz.
