Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman lifted a ban on Lebanese imports, with the Saudi press agency noting "positive steps" in Lebanon's institutional reorganization, The National reported on June 11. Lebanese businesses and President Joseph Aoun welcomed the news, saying the move would improve the country's economic performance.

Saudi Arabia imposed the ban in 2021, primarily to target Hezbollah, which was then involved in the Captagon trade and seen by Riyadh as a major obstacle to Saudi interests and Lebanese stability. Since then, Hezbollah has weakened considerably, reducing Riyadh's drivers to maintain the ban. In 2020, Lebanon exported around $240 million worth of goods to Saudi Arabia, accounting for about 5% of its total exports. Most of these exports were agricultural, like fresh produce, but also included some manufactured goods; in 2019, Saudi Arabia was the top destination for Lebanese agriculture, accounting for 22% that year.
