The U.S. House of Representatives passed a nonbinding war powers resolution to curtail U.S. military operations in the Iran conflict unless the Trump administration gained congressional approval, The New York Times reported on June 3. The resolution passed 215-208 after four Republicans crossed party lines in order to approve it.

The House of Representatives previously called off a vote after the Senate advanced a war powers resolution in a 50-47 vote on May 19. Trump vetoed two war powers resolutions during his first term, and Congress lacked the support to override the vetoes.
