The Lebanese political and militant group Hezbollah rejected the latest ceasefire with Israel jointly announced by the United States, Israel and Lebanon, Axios reported on June 4. The rejection comes a day after Israel and Lebanon agreed to implement a full ceasefire, contingent on Hezbollah halting attacks on Israel and withdrawing its operatives from the area south of the Litani River in Lebanon.

The Trump administration has spent the past month mediating between Israel and Lebanon in an effort to separate the Lebanon front from broader U.S.-Iran negotiations. Tehran, however, has increasingly tied the continuation of talks with Washington — and the wider regional ceasefire — to a full halt in Israeli operations and withdrawal from Lebanon.
