Iran conducted drone and missile attacks against Kuwait — including Kuwait International Airport and unnamed diplomatic missions — and Bahrain, resulting in one fatality and at least 63 injuries in Kuwait, including from debris and damage at an airport terminal, Reuters reported on June 3. The Iranian attacks came after the United States conducted "self-defense strikes" on Iranian military sites and a military ground control station on Qeshm Island.

U.S. Central Command also shot down drones that were targeting civilian vessels attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz. A spokesperson for the Kuwait Ministry of Defense called the attacks "criminal Iranian aggression." Meanwhile, an advisor to the Emirati president has called for a unified Gulf response to the attacks. In an interview with The New York Times published on June 3, U.S. President Donald Trump said, "We don't need boots on the ground now."
