An Indian delegation visited Beijing on May 27 for the 35th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs, where, according to Indian official statements, both sides discussed border delimitation and trans-border river issues, Bloomberg reported on May 28.

The two sides also agreed to make preparations for the next Special Representatives meeting, although no date has been set. India and China share an unmarked and disputed Himalayan border that has been a source of friction for decades. In August 2025, Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a Special Representatives meeting where they agreed to begin delimiting the border.
