In the southern state of Tamil Nadu, actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay appears poised to unseat the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party, while in Kerala state, an Indian National Congress-led alliance is set to defeat the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Voting in India's state assembly elections occurred in multiple phases across different states between April 9 and April 29.
