Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Jeddah for his second visit to Saudi Arabia in a month, where he is expected to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and advance agreements on security, energy and infrastructure cooperation, Interfax-Ukraine reported on April 24. The visit follows a March defense cooperation agreement that Zelensky said would open the way for future contracts and joint projects.

Ukraine has promoted its counterdrone expertise to Gulf states as the Iran war has exposed weaknesses in regional air defenses. Ukraine has dispatched over 200 anti-drone specialists across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, and Ukrainian Sky Map counter-drone technology has reportedly been deployed at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.
