Romania's Social Democratic Party, or PSD, withdrew from the ruling coalition after disputes over austerity measures and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's refusal to resign, leaving him to lead a minority Cabinet alongside two junior partners, Digi24 reported on April 23. PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu said the party remains open to joining a future pro-European coalition under a different prime minister and pledged to maintain parliamentary support for legislation tied to EU-funded projects during the transition.
