Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his country was discussing security cooperation with Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, Reuters reported on April 10. Zelensky said Ukraine had already reached 10-year security cooperation agreements with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, adding that Gulf Cooperation Council oil and diesel supplies were part of these deals.
Ukraine has developed innovative and relatively cheap anti-drone systems, such as the Sting, General Cherry "Bullet" and Merops systems. Ukraine has also developed mobile infantry fire groups that track and shoot down drones with light arms and sensors. Gulf countries have struggled to combat Iran's Shahed drones, which, though slow and not necessarily impactful, can bypass the region's advanced air defenses that are mostly designed to shoot down ballistic and cruise missiles.
