Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a 32-hour Orthodox Easter ceasefire from April 11-12, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv would observe, Reuters reported on April 9. The Kremlin said the truce was a temporary humanitarian measure and not linked to renewed peace talks.

U.S.-mediated negotiations have stalled since the onset of the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran. Zelensky said Ukraine expects U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to travel to Kyiv as soon as the week of April 13 for further discussions.
