CSCL Arctic Ocean and CSCL Indian Ocean — two container vessels linked to China's state-owned shopping giant COSCO — successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz, marking the first time COSCO-linked ships have transited the strait since the U.S. and Israel-Iran war began on Feb. 28, The National reported on March 30. A day earlier, two India-bound tankers carrying liquefied petroleum gas safely transited the strait, and on March 28, Iran reached a deal with Pakistan to allow 20 container ships to pass through.

The two COSCO ships attempted to cross the strait on March 27, but quickly reversed course to return to the Persian Gulf. Four LPG tankers have already passed through the strait to India since the Iran conflict began.
