Samsung Group, SK Group and HD Hyundai Group have each implemented five- or 10-day rotational vehicle-use systems to reduce fuel consumption, according to Yonhap News Agency on March 25, which comes after the government implemented a similar system for public sector vehicles. In addition, South Korean Energy Minister Kim Sung-hwan said on March 24 that the government will "actively consider measures for work-from-home" to conserve energy.

Prime Minister Kim Min-seok announced on March 26 that the presidential office was setting up an emergency economic situation room to address energy issues, while a senior presidential secretary noted that Seoul was preparing for energy disruptions that could last three to six months.
