Russia has been providing Iran with targeting intelligence on U.S. military assets in the Middle East since the outbreak of hostilities on Feb. 28, including the locations of warships and aircraft, The Washington Post reported on March 6, citing U.S. officials familiar with the matter.
Iran has launched drones and missiles at U.S. facilities across the region following the U.S.-Israeli strikes, including an attack in Kuwait that killed six U.S. service members and the CIA station at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Iran has limited independent satellite capability, suggesting that Russian space-based imagery or electronic intelligence could enhance Tehran's targeting cycle.
