The United States and Argentina sealed a trade and investment deal that includes the elimination of hundreds of tariffs on each other's goods, Clarin reported Feb. 5.

Under the deal, the United States will eliminate 1,675 reciprocal tariffs on Argentine products while Buenos Aires will terminate more than 221 duties on U.S. goods. The agreement will also increase the U.S. quota for Argentine beef by five times to 100,000 tons, while Argentina will increase its imports of U.S. cars and agricultural products and eliminate duties on U.S. machinery, medical parts and chemical products. Bilateral trade reached $16 billion in 2024, with Argentina recording a slight trade surplus of $232 million.
