After facing strong opposition in article-by-article votes, lawmakers from President Javier Milei's Freedom Advances party decided to pull the reforms from debate and sent the omnibus back to committee, Bloomberg reported on Feb. 6.

The decision to send the bill back to committee came after it had received general support on Feb. 2, despite being trimmed from 664 articles to 383, which began the process of individually voting on each article. President Milei, currently in Israel for his first bilateral state visit, criticized the political "caste" on Twitter, formerly X, adding that the government "will continue with our program with or without support" from other parties.
