Troika officials failed to reach an agreement in negotiations on a Cyprus bailout March 24, Xinhua reported. Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades will now fly to Brussels for further talks with EU and International Monetary Fund officials in an attempt to close a deal before the March 25 deadline, when the European Central Bank will stop giving emergency liquidity support to Cyprus banks. Cyprus' economic woes have resulted in a crisis of confidence as people lose trust in country's banking sector, the Cypriot government and the European Union.
