U.S. President Joe Biden confirmed that the United States would provide an additional $600 million in financing to support the development of the Lobito Corridor, which will connect Zambia's Copperbelt to the Atlantic Ocean, Bloomberg reported on Dec. 4. The announcement, which involves a $553 million loan from the U.S. International Development Finance Corp. approved in July, came as Biden held a summit with the presidents of Angola, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as Tanzania's vice president.
