Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov denied a report by Russian state-owned daily Izvestia suggesting that if paused Russian-Ukrainian negotiations resumed, Russia would not discuss returning the Russian-occupied Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions to Ukraine, RBC reported June 8. Pro-Russia authorities in the regions have proposed holding referendums on joining Russia by the end of 2022.
