The Turkish Military announced June 16 that it retaliated against Syrian army units in Idlib province with heavy artillery after one of its checkpoints in the province came under fire from Syrian artillery. While the Turkish checkpoint was damaged, no casualties were reported. This is the second incident in a week where Syrian artillery has struck a Turkish checkpoint in Syria.
