The United Arab Emirates will build a new port on Sudan's Red Sea coastline, according to Osama Daoud Abdellatif, the chairman of Sudan's largest private company DAL Group and a partner in the deal, Reuters reported June 21. The port construction is part of a $6 billion investment package that will include a free trade zone, an agricultural project, a small international airport and a $300 million deposit to Sudan's central bank.
