The South African Department of Employment and Labor filed a lawsuit against Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei for failing to comply with the Employment Equity Policy, which requires at least 60% of foreign companies' workforces to be comprised of domestic workers, SAnews reported Feb. 14. While the South African government has said its actions will not hurt foreign investment, it also announced an intention to audit other foreign-owned companies to show that the government is not targeting Huawei specifically.
