Russian President Vladimir Putin’s approval rating dropped to 59 percent in April, marking Putin’s lowest-ever rating since rising to power in 1999, Vedomosti reported May 6.

The poll was conducted by Levada Center, whose results are often rejected by the Kremlin, but is widely considered an objective source. The approval rating of Prime Minister Mishustin’s government also dropped to 46 percent in April.
