Russia is ramping up efforts to influence Moldova's Sept. 28 parliamentary elections, according to a Bloomberg report published Sept. 22 that cites leaked Kremlin documents revealing Russia's strategy in the country. According to the documents, the strategy includes widespread social media disinformation campaigns, deployment of staged protests, recruitment of Moldovans abroad to vote at polling stations in the European Union and use of compromising material to pressure public officials to disrupt the electoral process.
