On May 17, the Philippine navy confirmed it was moving a guided-missile frigate and other sea and air forces to a base in the Subic Bay, which is 80 kilometers west of Manila, Kyodo News reported May 27. The Subic Bay airport signed an agreement with the Philippine defense department to allow aircraft to use the airport, and the rest of the Philippines' naval forces will move to Subic Bay within a year.
