Al Qaeda-affiliated group Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin, or JNIM, claimed responsibility for attacks on the Faladie military camp and a military base at the Modibo Keita International Airport (also known as Bamako-Senou International Airport), Reuters reported on Sept. 17. While no official casualty figures have been released, reports indicate several deaths and numerous injuries.
