Kazakhstan's atomic energy agency announced that Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom and China's state-owned China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) have both been selected to lead two separate projects to build nuclear power plants in the country, Reuters reported June 14. According to the agency, Rosatom's bid was "the most optimal and advantageous" for Kazakhstan, but added that "China is definitely one of the countries that has all the necessary technologies and the entire industrial base, and our next main priority is cooperation with China."
