Japan and Indonesia agreed to strengthen security cooperation, including joint development of maritime defense capabilities, The Asahi Shimbun reported on Jan. 13. Japan also agreed to assist Indonesia with President Prabowo Subianto's flagship free school meal program through vocational training, agriculture technology transfers, and food and nutrition partnerships.
