The Israel Defense Forces' 188th Armored Brigade said a platoon, usually around two to three tanks and associated troops, was preparing to storm the restive Palestinian city of Jenin for the first time since the Second Intifada, The Times of Israel reported on Feb. 23. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the IDF to prepare to stay in the West Bank's refugee camps for at least another year.
