Israel's Knesset voted 62-51 to advance a bill that would allow the body to override the Supreme Court with a simple majority and require the Supreme Court's decisions to be unanimous among its 15 justices, AP reported Feb. 22. In addition, the Knesset advanced a bill that would bring Shas party leader Aryeh Deri back to the Cabinet after the Supreme Court barred him from serving due to past criminal offenses.
