Iranian state media sources reported that an Israeli attack on a residential building in Damascus, Syria, killed the Syria intelligence chief of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, his deputy and three other IRGC members, The Times of Israel reported on Jan. 20. In response to the attack, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said, "The Islamic Republic will not leave the Zionist regime's crimes unanswered."
