Iraqi's ruling Shiite Coordination Framework won at least 101 seats under various lists, especially military-political groups, in the provincial council elections that took place on Dec. 18, which gave the coalition the largest share of seats, Reuters reported on Dec. 20. The winning military-political groups include the Badr Organization and Asaib Ahl al-Haq, which won the most council seats as anticipated, followed by the list that included former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and a more moderate list that included Ammar al-Hakim and former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
