The deputy governor of Iran's Tehran province Ali Asghar Naserbakht said Iranian police arrested 100 protesters on Jan. 1, Reuters reported. Naserbakht was quoted by the ILNA news agency as saying 450 protesters have been arrested in Tehran since Dec. 30, as authorities continue to crack down on the anti-government demonstrations. The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has accused the United States, Britain, and Saudi Arabia of being behind the protests .
