Palm oil farmers and exporters urged the Indonesian government to lift export restrictions and the domestic market obligation (DMO) on palm oil to prevent a loss of harvest, and the head of the Indonesia Palm Oil Association board asked the government to remove the DMO since domestic supplies and reserves are at capacity, Reuters reported July 15. The government responded that the DMO is not the issue and that the export quotas of 5.4 million tons have not been fulfilled.
