Hong Kong's government prosecutor Anthony Chau claimed during a national security court case that the defense's request that the prosecution prove that the defendants were foreign agents (and thus needed to provide police-requested information) was unrealistic and would "defeat the overarching objective of the national security law (NSL)," Hong Kong Free Press reported July 13. One of Hong Kong's handpicked national security judges, Peter Law, was present during the case and was asked to determine whether a request for such proof was reasonable.
