The Ethiopian parliament has voted to cut the federal government’s communication and funding to the ruling bodies of the northern Tigray region, Al Jazeera reported Oct. 7. The vote follows the Sept. 9 regional election in Tigray that took place in defiance of Addis Ababa’s orders to postpone elections.
