Argentine President Mauricio Macri suspended the purchase of four ocean patrol vessels from France after French and German Colza oil producers boycotted Argentine biodiesel, Ambito Financiero reported Sept. 19. The French and German producers accused Argentina of not taxing its biodiesel exports and announced that they will take the case to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Though the WTO is likely to rule in Argentina's favor, the biodiesel issue could affect larger South American trade negotiations with the European Union.
