What We're Tracking Xi likely attends the SCO summit. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization will hold a summit Sept. 15-16 in Uzbekistan. Reports from the SCO and Russia suggest that Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend, which would mark his first foreign visit in almost three years, where he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines. SCO heads of state are expected to adopt a final document named the Samarkand Declaration, a comprehensive agreement governing all SCO activities. Additional statements are expected regarding the development of transit corridors between the member states and a roadmap to gradually increase the share of national currencies in mutual settlements by reducing the use of the dollar. Prior to the summit, Xi is also likely to meet with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Sept. 14 in Kazakhstan. Ramaphosa visits Biden in Washington.
