The Student List's victory in Serbia's election ends 14 years of Serbian Progressive Party dominance under former President Aleksandar Vucic, with the new government likely to prioritize domestic reforms; relations with China and Russia will remain stable, and those with the European Union and neighboring countries will improve only gradually, though ideological divisions will threaten the government's fragile majority and raise the risk of early elections. The Student List, formed by members of the student-led protest movement that has led nationwide anti-government protests since November 2024, won 52.5% of the vote and a projected 140 out of 250 seats in Serbia's parliamentary election on Oct. 25, against 39.3% and 103 seats for the United Serbia list of Vucic's Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
