The Naval Update Map shows the approximate current locations of U.S. Carrier Strike Groups (CSGs) and Amphibious Ready Groups (ARGs), based on available open-source information. No classified or operationally sensitive information is included in this weekly update. CSGs and ARGs are the keys to U.S. dominance over the world's oceans. A CSG is centered on an aircraft carrier and includes significant offensive strike capability. An ARG is centered on three amphibious warfare ships, with a Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked.

  • CVN 68: The USS Nimitz is anchored off the coast of Panama City, Panama.
  • CVN 71: The USS Theodore Roosevelt is underway in the Pacific Ocean.
  • CVN 72: The USS Abraham Lincoln is underway in the Arabian Sea.
  • CVN 77: The USS George H.W. Bush is underway in the Atlantic Ocean.
  • CVN 78: The USS Gerald R. Ford is anchored off the coast of Split, Croatia.

Amphibious Ready Groups/Marine Expedition Units

  • LHA 7: The USS Tripoli is moored in Diego Garcia.
  • LHD 4: The USS Boxer is moored in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
  • LHD 7: The USS Iwo Jima is underway in the Caribbean Sea.
